Greenwood Grove’s design character is derived from the nearby rural township of Cooroy and existing natural vegetated tributaries which traverse the site. A contemporary interpretation of the rural ‘post, rail & wire’ fence defines the entry to the community, incorporating large recycled timber members with infill galvanised steel wire ropes. Other elements which reinforce this rural & natural landscape are stone signage walls, large recycled timber bollards and Hoop Pine street trees which are typically found on hillsides and ridgelines.
The re-vegetated tributaries and associated open space enhances the ecological quality and provides a natural buffer within the site. They also create opportunities for both active and passive recreational uses by way of formal parkland, a playground and bush trails. The timber boardwalk, which crosses the tributary, provides an opportunity for viewing whilst also reinforcing the tributary’s presence along the site’s primary thoroughfare.
Peet commissioned O2 Landscape Architecture to undertake Schematic Design, Contract Documentation and Contract Administration Services for this 174 lot subdivision.
